Our team is made up of three highly experienced CORU registered Speech and Language Therapists with over 20 years experience each working with children and young people with feeding difficulties. Our team is dedicated to supporting children of all ages with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties.
Elizabeth Holmes MMedSciBSc MIASLT CORU SL018113
Elizabeth is a Speech and Language Therapist with over 20 years’ experience working with children with feeding, eating, drinking and swallowing (FEDS) difficulties.
She holds a BSc in Psychology from University College Dublin and a Masters in Clinical Communication Studies from the University of Sheffield, qualifying in 2004.
Elizabeth has worked across hospital and community services in Ireland and the UK, including Tallaght Hospital, The Beacon Hospital and Children's Health Ireland. She has extensive experience supporting children with complex medical and developmental needs. She is a certified practitionr in the SOS Approach to Feeding and Supporting Oral Feeding in Fragile Infants (SOFFI) and has advanced training in dysphagia and videofluoroscopy.
Elizabeth is passionate about helping children and families feel confident, supported and positive around mealtimes through practical, evidence-based, familiy centered care.
Ruth Gallagher BScMIASLT CORU SL015351
Ruth graduated from the University of Ulster in 2001 with a BSc in Speech and Language Therapy. Since then she has worked in a Dublin teaching hospital, gaining experience with both adult and paediatric patients across various specialties. In 2008 she began specialising in Paediatrics and gained valuable experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
Throughout her career, she has worked closely with dietitians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and doctors to assess and treat patients, providing comprehensive care. Over the past 25 years, she has treated and worked with many babies, infants, children, teenagers and their families.
Her clincial expertise is supported by advanced training in several areas, including the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach, Supporting Oral Feeding in Fragile Infants (SOFFI), Talktools, a sensory motor approach to feeding and numerous advanced Dysphagia (Swallowing) training courses.
Beyond her clinical training, her professional dedication is informed by her personal experience as a mother of three. Having supported one of her daughters through a feeding aversion as an infant, she understands the significant stress and anxiety these challenges place on a family.
She is passionate about supporting children and their families by navigating feeding issues through a holistic and empathetic approach.
Charlotte McCoubrey BScMISTI CORU SL016030
Charlotte graduated from Trinity College, Dublin in 2000 with a BSc (Hons) in Speech and Language Therapy (Clinical Speech and Language Studies). She has over 25 years experience working in Dublin teaching hospitals with both adult and paediatric dysphagia and feeding caseloads.
She has experience of working independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. She completed her initial Dysphagia training in 2000 in Dublin before travelling to Birmingham for specialist paediatric training. Charlotte is continuously updating her clinical training and courses undertaken include Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to food aversion, Supporting Oral Feeding in Fragile Infants (SOFFI) and videofluoroscopy swallow studies. Charlotte also previously worked as a Project Manager for IASLT and full time Advisor to the Minister for Health on the Therapy Professions in the Department of Health and Children.
